O Bar and Dining (Level 47 Australia Square, 264 George Street)

Admittedly I did not eat here, we only came here for drinks. And admittedly I did not partake in the consumption of alcoholic beverages – rather I was just drinking mocktails. But by golly, these were delicious! The O Bar can only be described as majestic, as you arrive by elevator (unless you’re keen to walk 47 flights of stairs!) and are immediately welcomed by sweeping views of Sydney. We had to wait about half an hour for a table, and we were lucky to get window couches – which were in our opinion, the best seats in the house. The cocktail menu was expansive and expensive, but I was so exhausted that I was happy to settle for a mocktail (which was still incredibly fancy – and expensive!). The bar rotates continually, but oh-so-slowly that you can barely tell that it’s happening. You have to stay there for a wee while to get a full 360° rotation, which we didn’t do – but we were there long enough that we got to see views over the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

Although overpriced, it makes for a stunning evening and a great way to see the city for any tourist (and local, but probably only on special occasions!).
