The Bucket List should be on everyone’s bucket list, if they happen to find themselves out near Bondi beach on a fine, sunny day. We were there on a glorious spring afternoon and the Bucket List’s location absolutely sold itself.
We snatched our first glimpse of Bondi as we rounded the corner by Icebergs. The sparkling turquoise water dotted with surfer dudes (and dudettes), the squeaky clean golden sand packed with sun-baskers and the darling sky, blue without a cloud in the vicinity – yes, I’m in my happy place.
What I particularly love about Bondi is that in addition to all of the above, there are some amazing bars, restaurants and cafes only a few minutes walk from the water. Furthermore, there is a huge stretch of grass just itching to be occupied by those who are less keen on the sand. It’s beautiful, truly.
The Bucket List is on prime real estate, located right above the sand in the middle of Bondi Beach. It is crazy colourful: toying with tacky but ultimately very cool. And the views… hard to beat! The place is huge and would be super ideal for functions and events – I know they have regular gigs.
The food is fresh, beachy and appropriately Australian: think tacos and fish, burgers and salads. The cocktail menu is lavish: I didn’t try but the big jugs of passionfruit daiquiri being thrown around were incredibly tempting. We opted for some casual beers in the sun: there was a decent range on tap and they let me try a few before I made up my mind.
Bucket List: tick.
